Services & Scheduling

Scope of Work: Services can include but are not limited to, setting up age related activities, meal prep, children’s laundry, keeping children’s play areas tidy, visits to parks/library and other out of the home activities, driving to clubs/classes, homework help. Any additional tasks must be agreed upon beforehand preferably in writing.

Hours: Care will be provided during the hours agreed upon in the booking. I cannot guarantee availability for early starts or late finishes without prior notice.

Lateness: Lateness/preventing me from leaving on time could incur an increase to agreed hourly rate for the time over and above the original time agreed. Continually being late/preventing me from leaving on time could result in no further bookings being made.

I can only provide unregular ad-hoc care as a self-employed Nanny. Regular patterns of care would need to be through employed work with parents becoming employers of the Nanny.

I will always endeavour to care for children in line with parents’ preferences unless that involves actions that go against my ethos or demonstrate unhealthy practices.
2. Payment Terms

Rates: See separate sheet detailing fees.

Invoicing: Invoices are sent within 5 days of the booked period and are due upon receipt.

Payment Methods: I accept bank transfer. My bank details are included on invoices.

Overtime: Any hours exceeding agreed time may incur a higher hourly rate than the agreed standard rate.
3. Cancellation Policy

Notice Period: A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for any cancellation.

Fees: Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged at 50% of the scheduled shift. Cancellations due to illness are exempt from this rule.

Provider Illness: If I am unable to work due to illness, I will notify you as soon as possible. You will not be charged for hours I cannot fulfil.
4. Health & Safety

Illness Policy: I cannot provide care if a child has a fever, contagious rash, has diarrhoea or has vomited within the last 24 hours.

Medication: I will only administer medication with a signed "Medication Authorization Form" provided by the parent.

Emergencies: In the event of a medical emergency, I will call 999 first, followed immediately by the parents. Parents must provide emergency back up contacts for use in cases where parents are uncontactable.
5. Professional Boundaries & Expectations

Communication: Please use WhatsApp for daily updates. I will respond to messages as soon as I am able. You can also use my email address jayne@proxyparent.co.uk for non-urgent correspondence.

Contract: Care can be provided with an ongoing ad hoc contract with multiple bookings being made whilst on this contract.

Termination: Written notification can be given when there is no longer a need for the care to be provided thereby terminating the contract between us.
6. Liability & Insurance

Release of Liability: I will exercise due care. I shall not assume responsibility for pre-existing medical conditions or accidents occurring within the normal scope of play, provided I am not negligent.

Property Damage: I shall not be liable for accidental damage to the home or property unless caused by gross negligence.

Insurance: I have public liability insurance

Fees
Cost is dependent on which day the care is needed and how far I must travel to get to the job. I am based in Manea, Cambridgeshire. See below to determine likely costs.
Daily Childcare
Care for children during the day in their own home 8am–6pm
Monday-Friday
Manea and surrounding villages £16 p/h
Up to (approx)15 miles from Manea £18 p/h
Up to (approx)25 miles from Manea £20 p/h
Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays
Manea and surrounding villages £18 p/h
Up to (approx)15 miles from Manea £20 p/h
Up to (approx)25 miles from Manea £22 p/h
Evening Childcare
Care for children during the evening usually while asleep in their own home 6pm-11pm
Monday-Thursday
Manea and surrounding villages £14 p/h

Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holiday
Manea and surrounding villages £16 p/h

3-hour minimum booking required for jobs involving any kind of travel from Manea.

Overnight Care
Proxy Parenting is care for a child or children in their own home overnight or for multiple nights while parents are away for work or leisure.
7am-7pm - £16-£22 p/h
7pm-11pm - £14-£20 p/h
Overnight Fee - £60
Example: A booking from 6pm Saturday until 10am Sunday in Manea or surrounding villages would cost £196-
Example: A booking in Girton, Cambridge from 2pm Saturday until 5pm Sunday would cost £470
